to dye the still waters with blood

This work offers a dialogue and an offbeat point of observation: the spectrum from presence to absence.
She is both life, dead, trace, memory and remembrance. And both an initiation into silence and contemplation. It aims to bring a reflection on the very existence of the human being through a subject that is today a hot topic that has finally crossed all time.. At all times, the migration where it had to cross the sea had its share of missing swallowed up by the waters, diluted.
The year 2018 saw disappear in the crossing of the Mediterranean sea 2262 people. Their blood has mingled with the waters. He stained with blood and left his imprint in those waters.
We are faced with both the trace and the absence of a trace. On the orphan track. To an existing and non-existent presence at the same time, with imperceptible remains. Like them, we are immersed in a timeless dimension, in the immeasurability of the drama. The engulfment is an incognito passage that escapes our gaze, with a loss of identity and an absence of materiality. This work proposes to position itself as a representation of this trace and to make this anonymity visible. It proposes to be the silence that binds us to these missing beings. It aims to be a resonance and we know that resonances often transcend temporal and geographic distances.
